Final Major Project Year 3

I am currently working on my third year Final Major Project, for which I have chosen to look at landscape gardens and architecture. I am combining the imagery to create designs for intarsia knitting, which I will then knit into garment fronts for womenswear!

I was really influenced by the giant chess pieces found in the gardens of Burton Agnes Hall, which reminded me of Alice in Wonderland, and the surreal combination of objects and landscapes!

I came across this print when doing trend research using View journal, and found the mixture of graphically designed architectural elements, along with pattern in varying scale highly inspiring and really interesting.

This is my second year Final Major Project work. I decided to look at gothic subculture and street style, whilst also looking at gothic architecture, combining ideas and styles found in both. I also looked at trend predicions to try and keep my designs contemporary and current!
